MASSACHUSETTS WOMAN HONORED BY ART MAGAZINE

Mass artist, Jacquie Gouveia, has been selected as one of the Top 50 Emerging Artists by the editorial staff of the New York based magazine, Art Business News. Art Business News is the art industry's most requested magazine and has been the art industry’s news leader since 1977.

Inspired by color and a true appreciation for the outdoors and nature, the artist creates abstract landscape paintings. With the use of color she aims to express the light and mood of the environment. Gouveia often begins a painting based on a place she has seen but then allows her work to transform into something that comes from her intuition and imagination.

“Color is what really defines my art. Working with color to create a painting is similar to writing music. As you put colors next to each other, like notes in a chord, you create a mood and overall feeling. The finished painting has it’s own harmony”,...

One day each week beginning the week of May 7th until sometime in October, I will rise before the sun to create an impressionistic painting of the sunrise. The paintings will be auctioned off starting with a very reasonable open bid to entice new art buyers to add a classic piece to their collection, or to start an art collection.

The term impressionism was developed after Claude Monet painted and titled "Impression Sunrise" in 1873.
